report: apple moving to “merom” quickly

For another Apple-related tidbit today, AppleInsider cites an unnamed source in proclaiming that “the company is slated to receive mass shipments of the new Merom Core 2 Duo processors by the first week of September and plans to be amongst the first PC manufacturers to introduce systems based on the new chips.” If true, this bodes well for an updated MacBook Pro and possibly iMac at WWDC next week. Stay tuned for what will inevitably be more Apple updates over the next few days.
